Did the winter weather get you down? It is time to find that pep in your step and get back out there. Spring is here and there is so much to do to lift your spirits.

Spring into Action

It is time, once again, to get your fitness routine on point. If you started a workout routine in the New Year it is time to change it up a bit. Find a new class you like, get a personal trainer, or join a spring sports league. You will enjoy the new activity and may even meet a new cutie while doing so. If you put off starting an exercise routine, now is the perfect time to get going. The endorphins will lighten your spirit and you will look good for the upcoming bathing suit season.

Spring Clean your Wardrobe

Time to put the winter sweaters away, break out the shorts, wedges and light weight clothing. Also it is time to lighten your closet load. Go through your closet and throw out any items that you have not worn in over a year. Once you see what you have verses what you are missing it may inspire your next shopping trip. Fill your closet with colorful clothes that make you feel stylish and fun. If you need help with some Spring outfits email us to set up a shopping date. We will have a blast and you will leave looking and feeling great! sales@theoneconsulting.com

Spring for drinks with friends

Invite your friends or colleagues for a happy hour on the waterfront or other fun locale like POV at the W. Offer to pick up the first happy hour drink to get everyone excited for a fun break from the daily grind. Call ahead to find out the best evening, for happy hour and plan your excursion. Also make reservations so you ensure a table. Being by the water or just outside for that matter will lighten the mood and get everyone in the spirit of Spring.

Get out and enjoy the Spring

This is the perfect time to take walks, reflect on your life, what you are happy with and what you would like to change. Take action and create the life you want. If there is a job you have been coveting, go after it with integrity and enthusiasm. If there is someone you have wanted to speak to at the gym, at work, at a happy hour use this great weather as a conversation starter. “Isn’t this weather great, I may start a running/walking group if you want to join in.”

All in all, Spring is a time to start fresh. Get outdoors, see friends and make time for yourself. Pretty soon you will have that old Spring in your Step once again!

March Madness

Pick a good game that is sure to give you a lot to talk about. Get a group of friends, colleagues or family members together at a nearby watering hole and make a night of it. A lot of single people venture to Sports Bars so make sure to find a great one in your area. Call around to see what each of them is offering during March Madness and plan your night out. Even though this is a sports theme night out, make sure to look your best and of course be knowledgeable on the teams playing. This will give you great conversation starters when going up to meet someone. Even if your team does not win, keep a smile on your face and have fun!

St. Patrick’s Day

While this night is usually just a crazy drink fest, you want to select your party location in advance. Do you want a hole in the wall that attracts only locals or do you want a popular bar that you can see and be seen by the masses? Definitely wear something green as it makes you approachable. A great conversation starter could be, “I love your green scarf, and it brings out your eyes.” Make sure to stay safe and of course call a cab or assign a DD before you go out. Have fun celebrating with all the other leprechauns! Remember, everyone is Irish on St. Patty’s day, so make us proud!

Easter

We want to wish everyone a wonderful Easter. This is a great opportunity to spend time with your family and friends and who knows, while it is not your focus on this holy holiday, you may meet someone great at an Easter celebration. So make sure to dress your best and put your best foot forward at this beautiful time of year.

Since spring is coming, it is time to update your look so make sure to give us a call for a fun shopping day!

Happy March Everyone!

Well, it’s that time of year again. That time of year when all commercials for Kay Jewlers & Victoria’s Secret run rampent and everyone begins scrambling to book the perfect plans for the biggest date night of the year. UGGGHH .. it’s Valentine’s Day!

Make this year the one you decide to be strong and change your attitude towards dating and being single. This new outlook is sure to bring on a fresh new energy that can attract just the right kind of person you’ve been looking for.

TAKE A WEEK OR TWO OFF FROM DATING

Do you constantly have dates lined up with the wrong people? Maybe, you’re wasting your time dating people who are not a match for you. This will make you skeptical and can kill off your optimism. In order to meet someone great, you must remain positive, interesting and engaging. We recommend taking a week or two off from dating to recharge. Remove your online profile, hang out with friends, start reading a new book, or join a fun athletic league .. ANYTHING to keep you busy and having fun.

GET BACK IN THE GAME REFRESHED AND INVIGORATED

Now, you have just spent some time away from the dating scene. You are now ready to rewrite your online profile to give it the same upbeat and fresh vibe that you now have. If you are not a great profile writer, contact us @ sales@theoneconsulting.com. We offer online profile editing for clients and have seen great results. We take the things you’d like to get across about yourself and finesse it into a wonderful online profile that will have you standing out from the rest! We’d love to you help you get noticed online!

KEEP A POSITIVE ATTITUDE

One of the biggest problems with people who have been dating for a long time is their attitudes towards dating. You can’t expect to get positive results with a bad or entitled attitude. If you show up for a new date already thinking it is going to be a waste of time then guess what… it will be. Also, if you put major limitations on whom you will date, where they should live, and what you will and will not do then you may end up single for a while. We recommend broadening your search. Allow people who spark your interest to have foibles as long as they are good people who you otherwise connect with. No one is perfect, not even you. Stay happy and keep a positive outlook on dating. Look at each new date as a way to learn something new. Arrive with a smile and upbeat attitude, this is a very attractive quality and will at least guarantee that you will have a good time.

It can be rough out there in the dating scene, so stay strong and get your cupid on!

Trim the Fat – figuratively

We are not just talking about another workout routine… we mean that you should take this time to sever toxic relationships. Get rid of those friends that tend to bring you down and definitely do not continue to date someone with whom you see no future with. See to it that you are not wasting your precious time with people who hold no value to you in your life. When ending these relationships, you don’t necessarily need to be mean spirited or dramatic; just simply state that your life has taken you in a different direction and that you are no longer available to them. Also, be open-minded with the possibilities of whom you choose to date. Possibly even date someone you may not normally date; it may be a refreshing change. For all you know, that best friend of yours with whom you have a platonic relationship with may just turn out to be the love of your life.

Trim the Fat – literally

This time, we ARE talking about selecting a fitness goal for the year, and sticking with it! Everyone feels better after a good work out, it’s a fact. Exercise releases endorphines into your brain, thus creating the euphoric feeling known as happiness. A happy person is way more productive in their everyday life as opposed to an unhappy person. Not to mention the fact that whether you want to lose 10+ lbs or simply become well versed in the euphoria of athletics, 30 minutes to an hour of exercise a day will not only help your heart beat a little better, but will also add a little bit of self esteem with your new found apperance. Not only will you feel great, but you’ll look great too!

Source: LuluLemon

Work Smarter Not Harder

Like most people in the DC, MD and VA area, you may tend to be a bit of a workaholic. While this may be great for your bank account or aid in helping you climb the corporate ladder this tends to not leave much time for a social life. This year, plan to leave work early at least once a week to go meet friends or colleagues out for a happy hour. We are not suggesting you take up drinking as a main hobby, but we do recommend one night a week, in which you go out and do a social activity. This could be movie night on the mall with friends, a few drinks at the pub by your work or even trivia night with a few friends. This increases your chances of meeting someone great or even just connecting with a colleague you’ve never spent time with on a social level. Make sure to loosen (maybe even lose) the tie or keep some “after work” clothes at the office so that you make yourself look a little more approachable to others. Ladies, you’d be surprised how packing a cute tank, or a change of shoes can give you a little pizazz and confidence.

Save Money

It’s very exciting when you are capable of purchasing items for yourself, maybe a nice pair of boots, a sport coat, or maybe even take a particularly nice trip. Start this year by making a financial commitment to yourself. Put aside a certain amount of money per week or per paycheck to go towards something you really want. The reward of watching your bank account grow and the general stability of having savings will only add to your confidence and demonstrates that you are someone that knows just what they want out of life. Consider cutting back on a few of those guilty pleasures and find deals for your favorite brands, stores and products. Places like Nordstrom Rack & Filenes’s Basement will keep you looking fashionable at a fraction of the cost. Doing little things, like opting for cheaper dining options in stead of expensive restaurants or searching the internet for deals on big purchases will all help you add a little more to the piggy bank. Food, Clothes and electronics can wreak havoc on the bank account and if you lessen these aspects, you will be able to take that trip, put a down payment on that house or maybe even just do more of the things you love.

Learn Something New

Make this the year you start painting, playing tennis or maybe even take that cool cooking class you’ve read about over and over but have never done. Having hobbies and activities outside of work adds a level of interest to your to perspective mates. That co-ed soccer team you sign up for may have that special person you’ve been looking for, or may even just open you to a whole new network of people you hadn’t thought of before. There are numerous clubs and opportunities out there to try new things with very little downside, outside of an initial learning curve. Check out Meetup.com for a great source for fun and new friends!

Make Amends

Start the year off by taking the high road. Now, this doesn’t mean that you should let bad people back into your life, but do take some time to smooth out these lost relationships and communicate that you do feel a loss without them in your life. Take a look back at an argument from the other person’s perspective and maybe you will begin to see things a little differently. Be the bigger person, apologize for your wrong doings and try to get rid of any negative attention or anger you may be devoting to the situation. Harboring negative emotions towards a person can have more crippling effects on you than you realize, so try to smooth things over for your own benefit. The worse that could happen is the person does not forgive you, but at least you’ve done all you can to reach across the lines.

Choose To Live Happy

Source: LuluLemon

Make the choice (yes, it can be a choice) to be happy everyday. Happiness isn’t something you work towards; it is a way of life. Being positive is the first step in creating a full and happy lifestyle. The same way you can sit down, and feel sorry for yourself, works just as easily in the reverse. Sit down, look on the bright side, and tell yourself that everything will be OK. See the silver lining in the negative things that happen to you through out your life. The fact that you are still alive and breathing is enough to be grateful for, and you should always try to make the most of it. Don’t forget to just smile.

Quit Bad Habits

If you’ve been wanting to quit smoking, eat healthier, or quit being so negative, now is the time to take on your bad habits. If you remove a bad habit from your life, you create room for something great to take it’s place. Try to figure out what it is that ails you, and get out ahead of it. Reading books will give you an escape from reality, working out will help you with endorphins, taking up cooking can help you lose weight by being in control of the food you intake. There are many positive habits to form, in lieu of bad ones.

Eat Healthy

You have but one life to live, one body, so fuel your body with healthy foods and drinks. There are numerous blogs and books these days to show you yummy and healthy recipes. Try them out; you will be pleasantly surprised that some of the things that are your favorites now can be altered to taste just as good but with a lot less calories and fat. Check out: www.skinnytaste.com for great recipes that taste great! A healthy person is less likely to get sick and staying healthy will give you more time to go on dates.

Try New Looks and Compliment Others

Try new looks that you normally wouldn’t choose, and explore your fashion sense a bit this year. don’t be afraid to have a personal shopper or an image consultant pull new clothes and looks for you. They can make great choices for you, that you may have otherwise not have tried or had seen as a fit for you. Also, try some new makeup, a smokey eye or a red lipstick. They can change an ordinary look into something extraordinary. If you really want to feel great about yourself, make others feel good. Try to see something good in each person you encounter and let them know it. A simple, “I love your sweater” or “your hair looks great today” will definitely make someone feel good about themselves. You will both walk away with smiles on your face and feeling good about yourselves.

And there you have it ladies and gents. Our certified ten things to do in order to start 2013 off right! The world didn’t end in 2012 so once again, New Year, New You!

Here is to a wonderful 2013, Very truly yours,

Tis the season when we tend to be a little more stressed out than usual, with our inner “Grinch” rearing it’s lovely little head. If you’re currently dating, this may put the kibosh on having successful dates or even flirtation. Here are a few tips to stay grounded, happy, and interesting during the holidays.

Avoid packing on the pounds.

All year, we do out best to stay fit and be healthy. Once Thanksgiving rolls around, all our hard work seems to go out the window, and our overindulgence of food and drink seems to flow strongly until we’re left with our New Year’s day hangover. This year, as you continue to look for that special someone in your life; attack the holidays with a plan that wont leave you crabby and and few pounds over where you’d like to be. When attending holiday parties, try to eat something healthy like a salad before the event and once you’ve arrived, allow yourself one or two treats at the event so that you don’t feel deprived.

Be Selective with the amount of dates you go on.

December is filled with family functions, holiday parties, gift exchanges and department store sales; all in addition to your usual social responsibilities. The social calendar is filled up, and time is a rare commodity. USE YOUR TIME WISELY. We’re not saying that you should not date this month but we do recommend being a bit more selective with whom you choose to spend time with. For example; Online dating may not be the way to go this month, as you don’t necessarily want to spend your time meeting strangers who are not at all the way they’re OK Cupid profile has suggested (sorry Mike, from Arlington; who likes rock climbing). On the other hand, if there is someone at your office whom you’ve been eying for a while; have at it. Or maybe even go on that blind date your buddy and his wife have been advocating for. Just make sure to schedule the date when you have plenty of time to relax and get ready. You always want to be feeling good and relaxed on a date.

Get Plenty Of Rest

Remember, the holidays are a time to cherish with those you love and the people you care about. That can take a lot out of a person and can make dating during this time of year a little difficult. But the season does bring a bit of cheer and happiness. A happy person gives off an energy that can be attractive and felt by others around them. Eat well, manage your time, work out, and GET PLENTY OF REST.
Make sure to stay positive while going about your day to day activities and remember that even during that third holiday party of the month, with two more lined up for the week, you want to put your best foot forward; Because even though you may not be looking for them, The One may be looking for you.

Happy Holidays everyone, and a happy new year from The One!

Here at The One, we have so much to be grateful for; All of you, our friends and families, our clients, we love you all so much and would be nothing without you! Ok, now time for the fun stuff!

Ladies

Mac Cosmetics
We love MAC makeup! They have the best color and their eyelashes are the best. When going out on dates, or just enjoying a night out on the town we always want to look our best; and the people at MAC cosmetics, always make that happen! Thanks MAC!

Keurig/Starbucks
Needless to say we’re always on the go, from multi tasking our families, business, to just the general things we do in a given day we always need to have a good cup of “joe.” Thank you coffee!

Spanx
This is in the ladies section, but guys should be thankful for these as well. Where would we be without our spanx? The body slimming garments that give your butt a little lift and your back, a little tuck. Thanks Spanx; for keeping us hot!

Pinterest
Pinterest is a major time consumer of ours, and we’re not complaining. In the past year we’ve discovered this fun website as a way to learn about recipes, fashion, beauty secrets and even helped a few of our fellow ladies plan their weddings! Thank you to the ultimate scrap booking tool!

Our Health
We work hard to stay in shape, eat healthy and feel great. This is essential to general happiness and a huge boost in confidence. Ladies, working out and eating right is not always easy, but trust us; that if you live your life in a healthy fashion. You’ll be thankful that you do.

Workout classes/gym
We talked a big game in #5, but let’s be honest, going to the gym is sometimes difficult, and finding motivation can be even harder once you get there. Thank you to our workout classes for keeping us on par with out goals, and working us out harder than we ever could’ve on our own. From Bodypump to Kickboxing, we are thankful for these classes for allowing us to break a sweat!

Lululemon
Great workout clothes! Thanks Lululemon for not only making our butts look good, but for actually making clothing that breathes and allows us to move about easily or enjoy a nice long run outside. Fellas, your welcome as well!

Marti Fashion
We all look good in Marti’s clothes; that is just a fact. We love everything from her amazing dresses to her fabulous leather jackets. Her materials are the best, and Marti is just the best! Thanks Marti for keeping us looking good!www.marticompany.com

Botox
Wrinkles stink and Botox makes everyone look better! Thanks for being quick and easy!

Vacation
With so many things to be thankful for, one can get mighty exhausted. We are thankful for the very neccesary act of vacationing. Everyone needs a little time now and again to decompress and sip fruity cocktails while digging your toes into the sand. This thanksgiving whether you are preparing a meal for your family or just taking in the game while throwing back a couple cold ones. Treat yourself and book a vacation to somewhere fun! Trust us, you wont have any regrets about this one.

Men

Football/Fantasy football
Every man needs an outlet to chill and have some fun with their friends. Every year, around August; Men (and some women) gather around the computer screens and draft the next 5 months of either happiness or disappointment. Either way fantasy football can be a good way to get away from the rigours of life, and is a good way of staying connected with friends. We are thankful for the 5 months of football mania.

Vegas/Vacations with guy friends
What happens in Vegas .. stays in Vegas .. And boy are we thankful for that!

Living in DC where there are 4 women for every one guy
We like to keep it local, and guys, be VERY happy for this. Lots of options in DC, and with these ads you could pretty much pop into ANY of our events conveniently located around town and find a nice, loving, caring lady to have a long lasting relationship with. Check out our future events, and allow us to help you find The ONE. 1-4 odds aint bad

Online shopping to avoid crowded malls
Lines at shopping malls tend to make our men a little fussy. Online shopping allows you men to pick out those perfect gifts for their wives, kids, girlfriends, mom, whomever without having to leave the house! Thank you to the World Wide Web for eliminating the need to put on pants and head to the store. Our advice; while shopping this week at great BLACK FRIDAY deals or Cyber Monday deals; remember to pick up some special items for the one in your life.

Good Food
Men, let’s be honest: Food is definately top 5 on things that make life better. Good restaurants around dc are plentiful, and it always helps that you enjoyed a great meal, when your picking up the tab on those dates. Thanks to the great chefs around town.

Victoria’s Secret
Fellas, you’d BETTER be thankful for this. Victoria Secret is good for sexin’ up the ladies and after looking through the website for a little while; general browsing isn’t so bad anyways. Go ahead and order a catalog for your lady and the both of you can benefit from the catalog coming in every month.

50 Shades of Grey
Guys, be thankful that your lady is reading this book. If you see it in her hands after dinner o rbefore bed time. Assume your lady is ready to go! This book has opened your woman up to so many new things, you’d be an idiot to not benefit from it.

Best Buy
Gadgets from Ipads, TV’s, Video Games, and other manly items all under one roof! Thank you Best Buy for indulging our man’s techie side.

Beer
Nothing like coming home and throwing back a cold one during dinner. “Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.” -Ben Franklin. Guys, enjoy your beer, and ladies; if you’d like to keep your man happy. Never hesitate to bring him a cold one!

High Heels
Men love to see a woman in high heels! With our without clothes. Heels make a woman look sexy; with our withour clothes. ;o)

Happy October Everyone! Yes, that’s right it’s the wonderful autumn month of October where fall festivities get into full swing, including everyone’s childhood favorite: Halloween. What to Wear?

The main thing to remember about Halloween is that you should have fun. Pick something that you like and you feel good in. You should feel confident in your costume and go for appeal. Halloween doesn’t suspend the rules of dating, you should still show confidence, look your best, and knock the socks off the person whose attention you’re going after.
Happy October Everyone! Yes, that’s right it’s the wonderful autumn month of October where fall festivities get into full swing, including everyone’s childhood favorite: Halloween. But Halloween isn’t JUST for kids anymore. It’s the perfect time to let loose, jump start your creativity and meet new people in an over-the-top way!

Here are some quick tips in case you get stuck:

Be original: try to think outside of the box. Ladies, if you have a great figure, don’t be afraid to show it off, this is a holidays of extremes, a break from the everyday “normal” so take advantage!

LADIES: Keep it inside your comfort zone. Challenge yourself to be sexy, but definitely keep it classy. We don’t want to send the wrong message but we definitely want to show that special someone that you are something to be admired.

GUYS: Keep in mind that women love superheroes, gladiators and vampires. Same rules apply to you fellas, if you’ve got a great bod, show it off but DON’T be vulgar. Vulgar is NOT sexy.

Ladies, check out our friends at Yandy.com for some sexy costume options. Your local Halloween store also provides great options, as well as potential couple’s costumes.

Where to go?

While there are many options for fun things to do in the DC area for Halloween, try to plan ahead so you can schedule a car service or a cab to pick you up at the end of the night. Always drink responsibly.

If you are tired of the crowds, you can choose to host your own haunted house party (costumes required, of course). Invite all of your friends, ask them to bring a friend. Go all out and emcee a costume contest. People love prizes and it will get you up in front of the crowd…you never know, someone great may notice you up there!

Another option is to visit your local bar, go dressed in a casual costume to show that you are in the spirit.. If you’re more of a minimalist, wear all black and throw on a pair of cat ears or some other festive accessory. Guys, same goes for you, go in all black, get a gruesome scar or some vampire teeth. Either way, it shows that you are fun to be around and not a total party pooper.

If you are up for a crazy night out, check out a few of the big Halloween parties around town. Make sure to dress to impress in your hottest costumes so you are sure to get noticed. But remember, don’t mistake sexy for trashy.

Check out: http://www.lindypromo.com/events_dc.php for their Nightmare on M street event. It is a great event. We can vouch for it from personal experience.
Check out: http://www.spiritofwashington.com/Washington-DC/halloween-boo-cruise for a fun boo
cruise.

How to follow up?

If all goes well, you will have met someone great no matter how you decided to spend your Halloween. If this is the case you’ll want to follow up with a call to get together. If you met at a party, plan something a little more low key so you can actually spend time getting to know one another.
A lunch date, a coffee break or a glass of wine after work will follow up nicely to a crazy night on the
town. Also, keep in mind, if you met them in costume you may want to schedule a quick daytime date
in case they look scarier in real life.

So get out there you crazy kids! Get your costume and get ready for one of the
most exciting times of the year!

Happy Halloween!

So it’s that time of year when the masses huddle around their TV screens and watch hours of football on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays (seriously, thurdays?). We at The One, forever trying to help couples achieve maximum success in relationships would like to share a few tips for you ladies on how to effectively love and satisfy your man’s other love interest.

Be aware that he’s most likely going to want to watch football all day on Sunday, don’t assume that he’s going to want to go hiking or play party games with your friends. Remember that he still cares for you, but football is his getaway for him and something he has enjoyed for some time now.

Make your own plans on Sunday. As we stated in #1, football is a getaway for him, maybe use football as a getaway for yourself as well. Maybe visit a spa, catch up with your girlfriends, read a few chapters in your book, or just take the time to be with yourself.

Get into Fantasy football (Or at least act like you’re into it). It’s always the first things guys talk about come Sunday so if you can include yourself in the conversation, your man and his friends will be impressed

Throw a Sunday football party. Encourage your man to invite his friends over and make some yummy food. This allows you play an important role in the day’s activities and not only will you win points with your man, but his friends will surely appreciate the gesture as well.

Buy a pair of tickets to a game for his birthday or a special occasion. Give him the choice to bring you or a friend. Note: Don’t be offended if he chooses his friend, or be very clear that you’d like to go to the game with him.

Learn some of the football basics and watch the game with him. Try not to ask too many questions during the game. #3 (Fantasy Football) will also help you gain some knowledge. Maybe find out who his fantasy players are and track them with him.

Generally be helpful. During a time out, ask him if you can bring him a plate of food or to refresh his drink. The goal is to associate positivity of your presence during one of the most enjoyable times of his week.

Make it a game to remember. Win or Lose, make sure to let your man know you had fun watching the game with him. End the day of football with a little late night tackle session, have your man going to work on Monday looking forward to another week of Football with you!

While this may seem like an easy question to answer, we’ve recently learned that people have different ways of defining dating versus relationships, and that they usually do so in a way that is very personal to their perspective. With that in mind we wanted to write about it to try dispel any nagging confusion you (or your dating partner) might have.

If you are married, separated, not yet divorced or have been dating someone for over 3 months then you should answer: “No I am not single” or ”I consider myself single but I have been dating someone for X many months.” Even if you have not had the “are we exclusive” conversation, chances are that one of you isn’t looking to meet anyone else.

So when do you have the “are we exclusive” talk? It’s obviously important for both of you to know where your relationship is going. We do not think a person should ask these kind of questions after a second or third date but after, say, 2 months, it is important for you to be up front and honest to ascertain whether your relationship is going in the direction that you both envision. You can tell if the relationship is heading down “commitment road” by the way you feel and by the way the person treats you. Signs that a relationship is ready to be monogamous may include:

Calling you when they can because they want to, not as an obligation

You know they are not dating other people

You genuinely feel that they care for you

They make a point to see you regularly

We do not suggest asking “Where do we stand?” more than once or every time you see each other. This may actually have adverse affect – feeling smothered, trapped or duped into a relationship. If you feel that this person is “not that into you” or like you are always last on their list of priorities, feel free to broach that subject. Ask the person if they see future plans with you and if not simply cut them off and look for someone who is going to give you what you deserve. Who knows, they may come running back to you for fear of losing the best thing they ever had. If not there’s no reason to get discouraged, there’s a lot of fish in the sea.

Here’s a quote that we think illustrates this point:

“You do not need to be loved, not at the cost of yourself. The single relationship that is truly central and crucial in a life is the relationship to the self. Of all the people you will know in a lifetime, you are the only one you will never lose.”

- Jo Courdert

So even though it sounds selfish, put yourself first. Give the relationship enough time to nurture itself naturally and know when to throw in the towel! The best relationships have a foundation built on honesty and integrity. So get out there and have fun and know you can be confident that you are putting the most important person first, yourself!

For those of you seeking a hip and trendy place this has all the facets of a vivacious evening. Boundary Road has great food, great drinks, an excellent atmosphere in addition to a menu that is affordable, yet refined. Although the cozy tables create an intimate environment the space can get noisy, which could come in handy should you run into any awkward silences.

Unum is a super cute, small-plates wine bar. Boasting a sophicated menu with an amazing wine selection Unum automatically sets an impressive, while unpretentious mood for the evening. Casual elegance is the theme for this new restaurant in Georgetown, so it’s unsurprising that it’s quickly becoming a popular date spot for city-goers. The wait staff will kindly offer up great selections off their creative menu, that serves everything from oysters to braised short rib pasta.

Iron Gate – DuPont-ish

Iron Gate is currently closed, but it will be opening up in 6 months with a new Chef (Chef from Vermillion). This is the ultimate romantic date spot! The ambiance does everything it can to transport you to a small Italian/French bistro! When it reopens, it will be featuring a new menu with Italian and Greek elements. We are very, very excited for this to return, enough to put it on our list even though it’s not open. We just want you to be prepared. The European vibe is sure to impress any date and the great atmosphere will melt away any shyness and spark lots of conversation.

Jazz in the park at the National Sculpture Garden

Starting May 25th (THIS WEEK!), every Friday in the sculpture garden is Jazz in the park. Enjoy sitting on the grass with a homemade picnic or enjoy yummy treats with great sangria from the from the Pavilion Cafe! We know, we know this isn’t really a restaurant date spot, but we had to put it on our list since it’s such a great change of pace from the normal urban restaurant dating scene.

CoCo Sala. – 929 F st. NW

The Latin tapas restaurant is well-known for their amazing chocolates and desserts is a really fun place for a date. The food is very flavorful so the small plate menu is perfect for getting your food fix without worrying about over-sized portions. The place turns into a pseudo night club after dinner hours where you can dance the night away with your date, and is perfect as a mood-setting location.
